Who is ALTA?
The Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA) is a professional organization that sets research-based practice standards for dyslexia remediation and certifies professionals to become nationally recognized Certified Academic Language Therapists (CALT).
A CALT provides Academic Language Therapy which differs from tutoring. Traditional tutoring reinforces classroom content. Therapy requires additional time, intensity, and diagnostic instruction to build foundational skills students need to be proficient learners in the classroom.
